Parking Places Act
(CHAPTER 214)
Parking Places (Amendment) Rules 2016
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 8 of the Parking Places Act, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Transport, makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules are the Parking Places (Amendment) Rules 2016 and come into operation on 11 July 2016.
Amendment of rule 7
2.  Rule 7 of the Parking Places Rules (R 2) (called in these Rules the principal Rules) is amended by deleting paragraph (2).
Amendment of rule 8
3.  Rule 8 of the principal Rules is amended by deleting paragraphs (4) and (5).
New rule 13A
4.  The principal Rules are amended by inserting, immediately after rule 13, the following rule:
“Entry and exit of parking place
13A.—(1)  A driver of a motor vehicle must not, without authority of the Superintendent, drive the motor vehicle —
(a)to enter or attempt to enter a parking place other than through an access provided by the Superintendent for that purpose; or
(b)to leave or attempt to leave a parking place other than through an exit provided by the Superintendent for that purpose.
(2)  Paragraph (1) does not apply to a parking place if a flood, fire or emergency occurs in the parking place and the persons or motor vehicles in the parking place have to be evacuated.”.
Amendment of rule 30
5.  Rule 30 of the principal Rules is amended by deleting the words “within 7 days of the parking” and substituting the words “immediately prior to the removal of the person’s vehicle from the parking place”.
