Business Registration (Identical Names) (Amendment) Rules 2004
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 11(10) of the Business Registration Act, the Registrar of Businesses hereby makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules may be cited as the Business Registration (Identical Names) (Amendment) Rules 2004 and shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st February 2004.
Amendment of rule 2
2.  Rule 2 of the Business Registration (Identical Names) Rules (R 1, 2004 Ed.) is amended —
(a)by inserting, immediately after the words “at the end of the name” in paragraph (a)(iii), the words “, except where the business and corporation concerned are related to each other”;
(b)by inserting, immediately after the words “sub-paragraph (iii)” in paragraph (a)(iv), the words “, except where the business and corporation concerned are related to each other”; and
(c)by renumbering the rule as paragraph (1) of that rule, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following paragraph:
(2)  For the purposes of paragraph (1)(a)(iii) and (iv), a business is related to a corporation if the corporation is the person carrying on that business.”.
