Building Control
(Environmental Sustainability) (Amendment)
Regulations 2012

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 49 of the Building Control Act, the Minister for National Development hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Building Control (Environmental Sustainability) (Amendment) Regulations 2012 and shall come into operation on 20th July 2012.

Amendment of regulation 4

2. Regulation 4 of the Building Control (Environmental Sustainability) Regulations 2008 (G.N. No. S 199/2008) (referred to in these Regulations as the principal Regulations) is amended —

(a)

by inserting, immediately after the words “sub‑paragraph (c)” in paragraph (1)(a) and (b), the words “or (d)”;

(b)

by deleting the word “Schedule” wherever it appears in paragraph (1)(c) and substituting the words “First Schedule”;

(c)

by deleting the full-stop at the end of sub-paragraph (c) of paragraph (1) and substituting the word “; and”, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following sub‑paragraph:

“(d)

where the building works relate to any building on land sold on or after 20th July 2012 under the Government Land Sales Programme and the building is wholly or partly within an area described in the first column of the Second Schedule — the Green Mark Certification indicated in the second column of the Second Schedule.”; and

(d)

by deleting the words “paragraph (1)(a), (b) or (c)” in paragraphs (2) and (3) and substituting in each case the words “paragraph (1)(a), (b), (c) or (d)”.

Amendment of Schedule

3. The Schedule to the principal Regulations is amended —

(a)	by renaming the Schedule as the First Schedule; and
(b)	by inserting, immediately after the word “sold” in the heading of the second column, the words “on or after 5th May 2010”.

New Second Schedule

4. The principal Regulations are amended by inserting, immediately after the First Schedule, the following Schedule:
