Employment of Foreign Workers (Security Measures for Work Place) (Amendment) Notification 2007

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6A(5) of the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act, the Minister for Manpower hereby makes the following Notification:

Citation and commencement

1. This Notification may be cited as the Employment of Foreign Workers (Security Measures for Work Place) (Amendment) Notification 2007 and shall come into operation on 1st July 2007.

Amendment of title

2. The Employment of Foreign Workers (Security Measures for Work Place) Notification (N 5) (referred to in this Notification as the principal Notification) is amended by deleting the words “FOREIGN WORKERS” in the title and substituting the words “FOREIGN MANPOWER”.

Amendment of paragraph 1

3. Paragraph 1 of the principal Notification is amended by deleting the words “Foreign Workers” and substituting the words “Foreign Manpower”.

Amendment of paragraph 2

4. Paragraph 2 of the principal Notification is amended by deleting the definitions of “employment pass” and “work permit”.

Amendment of paragraph 3

5. Paragraph 3 of the principal Notification is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “valid work permit, entry permit or employment pass” in sub-paragraph (f) and substituting the words “valid entry permit or work pass”;
(b)	by deleting the words “work permit” in sub-paragraphs (g) and (j)(ii) (D) and substituting in each case the words “work pass”; and
(c)	by deleting the words “work permit number, entry permit number or employment pass number” in sub-paragraph (j)(i) (C) and substituting the words “work pass number or entry permit number”.
