Enlistment (Amendment) Regulations 2008
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 37 of the Enlistment Act, the Minister for Defence hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Enlistment (Amendment) Regulations 2008 and shall come into operation on 7th July 2008.
Amendment of regulation 14
2.  Regulation 14 of the Enlistment Regulations (Rg 1) is amended —
(a)by inserting, immediately after the words “18 years” in paragraph (1), the words “but not below the age of 16 years and 6 months”; and
(b)by inserting, immediately after paragraph (2), the following paragraph:
(3)  A person who is enlisted under paragraph (1) shall not be permitted to take a direct part in hostilities until he has attained the age of 18 years.”.
