Singapore Armed Forces (Volunteers) (Amendment) Regulations 2008
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 205 of the Singapore Armed Forces Act, the Armed Forces Council hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Singapore Armed Forces (Volunteers) (Amendment) Regulations 2008 and shall come into operation on 7th July 2008.
Amendment of regulation 4
2.  Regulation 4 of the Singapore Armed Forces (Volunteers) Regulations (Rg 7) is amended by inserting, immediately after paragraph (2), the following paragraphs:
(3)  Where any person applying for enlistment as a volunteer is below the age of 18 years —
(a)consent to the application shall be given in writing by the parent or guardian of that person; and
(b)that person shall not be permitted to take a direct part in hostilities until he has attained the age of 18 years.
(4)  For the purpose of this regulation, the age of a person applying for enlistment as a volunteer shall be determined in accordance with section 31 of the Enlistment Act (Cap. 93).”.
