(Amendment) Regulations 2025

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 77(1) of the Central Provident Fund Act 1953, the Minister for Manpower, after consulting with the Central Provident Fund Board, makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the Central Provident Fund (Retirement Sum Scheme) (Amendment) Regulations 2025 and come into operation on 19 January 2025.

Amendment of regulation 8C

2. In the Central Provident Fund (Retirement Sum Scheme) Regulations (Rg 16), in regulation 8C —

(a)

in the regulation heading, delete “in excess of retirement sum”;

(b)

in paragraph (1)(a), after “in the retirement account”, insert “or special account”;

(c)

in paragraph (1)(b)(i), delete “or” at the end;

(d)

in paragraph (1)(b)(ii), replace the full-stop at the end with “; or”; and

(e)

in paragraph (1)(b), after sub‑paragraph (ii), insert —

“(iii)

paid to the member’s retirement account under section 19(2A) of the Act.”.
