(Saving and Transitional Provisions) (No. 2)
Regulations 2021
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 32(3) of the Protection from Harassment (Amendment) Act 2019, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations are the Protection from Harassment (Amendment) Act 2019 (Saving and Transitional Provisions) (No. 2) Regulations 2021 and come into operation on 1 June 2021.
Definitions
2.  In these Regulations, unless the context otherwise requires —
“Act” means the Protection from Harassment Act (Cap. 256A);
“amendment Act” means the Protection from Harassment (Amendment) Act 2019;
“old Act” means the Protection from Harassment Act as in force immediately before 1 June 2021.
Application of section 10 of old Act
3.  Section 10(1) of the old Act continues to apply, as if section 13 of the amendment Act had not been enacted, to the failure to comply with an order under section 12 or 13 of the old Act made —
(a)before 1 June 2021; or
(b)pursuant to regulation 4 of the Protection from Harassment (Amendment) Act 2019 (Saving and Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2021 (G.N. No. S 353/2021), on or after 1 June 2021.
Application of section 18 of Act
4.—(1)  Section 18 of the Act applies in relation to an offence under a provision of the Act committed on or after 1 June 2021, including an offence committed under section 10(1) of the old Act on or after that date pursuant to regulation 3.
(2)  Despite section 22 of the amendment Act, section 18 of the old Act continues to apply in relation to an offence committed before 1 June 2021.
