(Amendment No. 3) Rules 2021

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 80 of the Supreme Court of Judicature Act and all other powers enabling us under any written law, we, the Rules Committee, make the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Rules of Court (Amendment No. 3) Rules 2021 and come into operation on 1 June 2021.

Deletion of Order 109

2. Order 109 of the Rules of Court (R 5) (called in these Rules the principal Rules) is deleted.

Amendment of Order 110

3. Order 110, Rule 1(5) of the principal Rules is amended —

(a)	by deleting the semi‑colon at the end of sub‑paragraph (o) and substituting a full‑stop; and
(b)	by deleting sub‑paragraph (p).

Amendment of Appendix A

4. Appendix A to the principal Rules is amended by deleting Forms 235 to 248.

Saving and transitional provision

5. The principal Rules continue to apply, with the necessary modifications, as if rules 2, 3 and 4 had not been enacted, to —

(a)	all Part 3 proceedings as defined in section 2(1) of the Protection from Harassment Act (Cap. 256A) commenced in the District Court or a Magistrate’s Court before 1 June 2021; and
(b)	all civil proceedings under Part 3 of the Protection from Harassment Act arising from Part 3 proceedings mentioned in paragraph (a), including (but not limited to) proceedings for the variation of an order made in those Part 3 proceedings.
