Parking Places Act

(Chapter 214)

Parking Places (Provision of Parking Places and Parking Spaces) (Amendment) Rules 1997

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 8(1)(b) of the Parking Places Act, the Minister for Communications hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Parking Places (Provision of Parking Places and Parking Spaces) (Amendment) Rules 1997 and shall come into operation on 22nd August 1997.

Amendment of Schedule

2. Part IV of the Schedule to the Parking Places (Provision of Parking Places and Parking Spaces) Rules (R 5) is amended by inserting, immediately after item 8, the following items:

“9.	Additions or erections of covered linkways or walkways that do not affect existing or approved parking layout or provision.

10.	Development of public bus interchanges.

11.

Development of land within a conservation area designated under the Planning Act (Cap. 232) comprising solely the conservation of all the buildings on the land in accordance with the requirements of the conservation authority under that Act and for which written permission has been granted by the competent authority under that Act.

12.	Erection of Automatic Teller Machine kiosks that do not affect existing or approved parking layout or provision.

13.	Temporary showflats and sales offices for showflats that do not affect existing or approved parking layout or provision.”.
