(OCBC Cycle 2022 — Exemption)
Order 2022
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 142 of the Road Traffic Act 1961, the Minister for Transport makes the following Order:
Citation
1.  This Order is the Road Traffic (OCBC Cycle 2022 — Exemption) Order 2022.
Definitions
2.  In this Order —
“OCBC Cycle 2022” means the event known as the Oversea‑Chinese Banking Corporation Cycle 2022 organised by PICH Event Management Pte. Ltd. to be held on the specified roads during the following dates and times:
(a)7 May 2022 from 4 a.m. to 9.15 p.m.;
(b)8 May 2022 from 1 a.m. to 11 a.m.;
“PICH Event Management Pte. Ltd.” means the company incorporated under the Companies Act 1967 as PICH Event Management Pte. Ltd. (UEN 201420877R);
“specified road” means any of the roads delineated by the black‑coloured lines in the maps set out in the Schedule.
Exemption
3.  Section 120(3) of the Act and rule 3(1) of the Road Traffic (Expressways — Excluded Vehicles) Rules 2010 (G.N. No. S 647/2010) do not apply to any person who rides a bicycle on a specified road during and in connection with the OCBC Cycle 2022 under the following conditions:
(a)the person is a registered participant of the OCBC Cycle 2022;
(b)there is in force, at any time the bicycle is used in connection with the OCBC Cycle 2022, a policy of insurance in relation to the use of the bicycle insuring against any liability in respect of —
(i)the death of or bodily injury sustained by any person (other than the rider of the bicycle); and
(ii)any property damage suffered by any person (other than the rider of the bicycle),
caused by or arising out of the use of the bicycle;
(c)the risk under the policy of insurance mentioned in sub‑paragraph (b) is assumed by an insurer who, at the time of the issuance of the policy, is lawfully carrying on an insurance business in Singapore.
