Environmental Public Health (Public Cleansing) (Amendment) Regulations 2004

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 111 of the Environmental Public Health Act, the National Environment Agency, with the approval of the Minister for the Environment, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Environmental Public Health (Public Cleansing) (Amendment) Regulations 2004 and shall come into operation on 1st July 2004.

Amendment of Second Schedule

2. The Second Schedule to the Environmental Public Health (Public Cleansing) Regulations (Rg 3) is amended —

(a)

by deleting paragraph (1) and substituting the following paragraph:

“1. Fees for the collection and removal of refuse from premises which are located in the area specified in the Third Schedule and which have been designated by the Director-General under section 8(2)(b) of the Act as premises whose occupiers shall use the service provided by the public waste collector licensee, Altvater Jakob Pte. Ltd.:

Per month

(1) Domestic premises provided with —

(a) direct refuse collection

$23.63 per premises

(b) indirect refuse collection

$7.21 per premises.

(2) Non-domestic premises where daily quantity of refuse collected and removed —

(a) does not exceed 120 litres

$44.10 per premises

(b) exceeds 120 litres but does not exceed 240 litres

$115.50 per premises

$157.50 per premises

(d) exceeds 360 litres but does not exceed 660 litres

$344.40 per premises

(e) exceeds 660 litres but does not exceed 1,100 litres

$556.50 per premises

(f) exceeds 1,100 litres

a combination of fees from sub-paragraphs (a) to (e) according to the combination of the least number of receptacles required to contain the daily refuse output and where more than one such combination of receptacles is possible, the combination of receptacles resulting in the lowest possible combined fee shall be applied.

(3) Hawker stalls, including stalls in public markets and markets managed by Statutory Boards, and those operating on temporary permits

$44.10 per stall.”;

(b)

by deleting the words “Statutory Board markets” in paragraphs 2 (3), 3 (3), 4 (3), 5 (3), 6 (3), 7 (3), 8 (3) and 9 (3) and substituting in each case the words “markets managed by Statutory Boards”; and

(c)

by deleting the word “bins” in paragraphs 3 (2)(f), 4 (2)(f), 5 (2)(f), 6 (2)(f), 7 (2)(f), 8 (2)(f) and 9 (2)(f) and substituting in each case the word “receptacles”.
