(Medisave Account Withdrawals)
(Amendment) Regulations 2019

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 77(1)(j) of the Central Provident Fund Act, the Minister for Manpower, after consulting with the Central Provident Fund Board, makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the Central Provident Fund (Medisave Account Withdrawals) (Amendment) Regulations 2019 and come into operation on 1 June 2019.

Amendment of regulation 2

2. Regulation 2(1) of the Central Provident Fund (Medisave Account Withdrawals) Regulations (Rg 17) (called in these Regulations the principal Regulations) is amended by deleting the definition of “dependant” and substituting the following definition:

“ “dependant”, in relation to a member, means any of the following:

(a)	the member’s spouse;
(b)	the member’s child;
(c)	the member’s parent;
(d)	the member’s grandparent who is a citizen or permanent resident of Singapore;
(e)	the member’s sibling who is a citizen or permanent resident of Singapore;”.

Amendment of regulation 4

3. Regulation 4(2) of the principal Regulations is amended by deleting the words “or a child” in sub‑paragraph (b) and substituting the words “, a child, a grandchild or a sibling”.

Amendment of regulation 19

4. Regulation 19(1) of the principal Regulations is amended by inserting, immediately after sub‑paragraph (b), the following sub‑paragraph:

“(ba)

a sibling who is a citizen or permanent resident of Singapore;”.
