Variation of the Singapore
Totalisator Scheme
Pursuant to section 11(5) of the Singapore Totalisator Board Act, it is hereby notified for general information that the Singapore Totalisator Board has, with the approval of the Second Minister for Finance, varied the Singapore Totalisator Scheme, with effect from 8th February 2007, in the manner set out in paragraph 2.
2.  The Schedule to the Singapore Totalisator Scheme (Sch 1) is varied —
(a)by deleting by-law 2.29A in Part II and substituting the following by-law:
2.29A.  The Club may declare a minimum guaranteed net pool amount for a particular pool. Subject to this by-law, if the net pool is less than the minimum guaranteed net pool amount, the Club shall increase the net pool to the minimum guaranteed net pool amount before the net pool is divided in accordance with the By-laws and Regulations for the bet type to which the net pool applies (referred to in this by-law as the particular bet type). If one or more races are void, or if there are insufficient starters or insufficient finishers in any leg, under the By-laws and Regulations for the particular bet type, or if one or more races are cancelled, the net pool, if less than the minimum guaranteed net pool amount, shall not be increased to the minimum guaranteed net pool amount and shall be dealt with in accordance with the By-laws and Regulations for the particular bet type.”;
(b)by deleting regulation 8.7 in Part III and substituting the following regulation:
8.7.  In the event of the winning combination being unbacked, the net pool shall be carried forward as a jackpot to the next pool unless otherwise decided by the Board.”; and
(c)by deleting the words “Jackpot 50% to next pool, pay 1st 3 placed horses in any order or, if unbacked, jackpot balance of pool to next pool.” under the heading “Unbacked” in the item relating to “TIERCE” under the heading of “ Pool” in the DIVIDEND CALCULATION ILLUSTRATION Table in Part III and substituting the words “If unbacked, jackpot the net pool to the next pool.”.
