Administration of Muslim Law (Mosque Building and Mendaki Fund) (Amendment) Rules 2005

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 81 of the Administration of Muslim Law Act, the Majlis Ugama Islam, Singapura, with the approval of the Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, charged with the responsibility for the portfolio of the Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports (G.N. No. S 551/2004), hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Administration of Muslim Law (Mosque Building and Mendaki Fund) (Amendment) Rules 2005 and shall come into operation on 1st July 2005.

Deletion and substitution of rule 13

2. Rule 13 of the Administration of Muslim Law (Mosque Building and Mendaki Fund) Rules (R 4) is deleted and the following rule substituted therefor:

“Contributions in excess of rate set out in Third Schedule to Act

13. Any Muslim employee who desires to contribute in excess of the appropriate rate set out in the Third Schedule to the Act may do so by —

(a)	giving written notice to his employer in the form issued by the Majlis for that purpose; and
(b)	sending a copy of the notice to the Majlis.”.

Deletion of Schedule

3. The Schedule to the Administration of Muslim Law (Mosque Building and Mendaki Fund) Rules is deleted.
