Common Gaming Houses (Exemption) (Amendment) Notification 2006

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 24 of the Common Gaming Houses Act, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Notification:

Citation and commencement

1. This Notification may be cited as the Common Gaming Houses (Exemption) (Amendment) Notification 2006 and shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st July 2006.

Amendment of paragraph 4

2. Paragraph 4 of the Common Gaming Houses (Exemption) Notification (N 4) is amended —

(a)

by deleting the word “Any” and substituting the words “Subject to sub-paragraph (2), any”; and

(b)

by renumbering the paragraph as sub-paragraph (1) of that paragraph, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following sub-paragraph:

“(2) Sub-paragraph (1)(d) shall not apply to any lottery that is promoted during —

(a)	any financial year commencing on or after 1st July 2006; or
(b)	any subsequent financial year,

by any organisation which is an approved institution of public character under the Income Tax Act (Cap. 134).”.
