Building Control
(Amendment) Regulations 2024

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 49 of the Building Control Act 1989, the Minister for National Development makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the Building Control (Amendment) Regulations 2024 and come into operation on 15 June 2024.

Amendment of regulation 42

2. In the Building Control Regulations 2003 (G.N. No. S 666/2003), in regulation 42(2), replace sub-paragraph (c) with —

“(c)	the certificate from the builder referred to in section 11(1)(f) of the Act has been submitted to the Commissioner of Building Control in accordance with that provision;
(ca)	if the building works are specialist building works — the certificate from the licensed specialist builder referred to in section 11(2)(aa) of the Act has been submitted to the Commissioner of Building Control in accordance with that provision;”.

Amendment of regulation 43

3. In the Building Control Regulations 2003, in regulation 43(3), replace sub‑paragraph (b) with —

“(b)	the certificate from the builder referred to in section 11(1)(f) of the Act has been submitted to the Commissioner of Building Control in accordance with that provision;
(ba)	if the building works are specialist building works — the certificate from the licensed specialist builder referred to in section 11(2)(aa) of the Act has been submitted to the Commissioner of Building Control in accordance with that provision;”.
