Notification 2010
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 22 of the Public Order Act 2009, the Commissioner of Police hereby makes the following Notification:
Citation
1.  This Notification may be cited as the Public Order (Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies) Notification 2010.
Definitions
2.  In this Notification, unless the context otherwise requires —
“special events” means the events known as the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games Opening Ceremony and Closing Ceremony being held at the Marina Bay Area on 14th August 2010 and 26th August 2010 respectively and declared as special events for the purposes of Part III of the Act by the Public Order (Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies) Declaration 2010 (G.N. No. S 416/2010);
“special event site” means the area described in the Schedule to the Public Order (Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies) Declaration 2010 for the special events, except land that is not a public place.
Conditions of entry to special event site
3.  It is a condition of entry into the special event site —
(a)that a person seeking to enter or in the special event site must, if asked by a police officer or an approved person, permit an inspection to be made of his personal property;
(b)that a person seeking to enter or in the special event site must, if asked by a police officer, permit a search to be made of the person;
(c)that a person must not take into or possess in the special event site a prohibited item in the Schedule, except with the express permission of a police officer; and
(d)that a person seeking to enter or in the special event site must comply with any lawful order of a police officer or an approved person regarding the entrant’s entry into and remaining in that special event site.
Where police officers and approved persons may exercise powers at special events
4.  During the special events, a police officer or an approved person may exercise any of the powers under sections 24 to 29 of the Act at any place that is within the special event site or is along the boundaries of the special event site.
Prohibited items
5.  Each item in the Schedule is a prohibited item.
Expiry
6.  This Notification expires —
(a)on 15th August 2010 for the opening ceremony of the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games; and
(b)on 27th August 2010 for the closing ceremony of the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games.
