(Saving and Transitional Provisions)
Regulations 2022
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 37 of the Child Development Co‑Savings (Amendment) Act 2021, the Minister for Social and Family Development makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations are the Child Development Co‑Savings (Amendment) Act 2021 (Saving and Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2022 and come into operation on 29 May 2022.
Definitions
2.  In these Regulations —
“amendment Act” means the Child Development Co‑Savings (Amendment) Act 2021;
“principal Act” means the Child Development Co‑Savings Act 2001.
Application of section 2(2) of amendment Act
3.—(1)  The definition of “stillborn child” in section 2(1) of the principal Act, as amended by section 2(2) of the amendment Act, only applies to or in relation to a confinement mentioned in the principal Act that occurs on or after 29 May 2022.
(2)  The definition of “stillborn child” in section 2(1) of the principal Act as in force before 29 May 2022 which applied, immediately before that date, to or in relation to a confinement mentioned in the principal Act that occurred before that date, continues to apply to the confinement as if section 2(2) of the amendment Act had not been enacted.
Application of section 39(2) of amendment Act
4.—(1)  The definition of “stillborn child” in section 2(1) of the Employment Act 1968, as amended by section 39(2) of the amendment Act, only applies to or in relation to a confinement mentioned in the Employment Act 1968 that occurs on or after 29 May 2022.
(2)  The definition of “stillborn child” in section 2(1) of the Employment Act 1968 as in force before 29 May 2022 which applied, immediately before that date, to or in relation to a confinement mentioned in the Employment Act 1968 that occurred before that date, continues to apply to the confinement as if section 39(2) of the amendment Act had not been enacted.
