Films (Classification Ratings)
Order 2021
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 13 of the Films Act, the Minister for Communications and Information makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Order is the Films (Classification Ratings) Order 2021 and comes into operation on 1 July 2021.
Definitions
2.  In this Order, unless the context otherwise requires —
“alternative classification marking”, for any classification rating, means a character or character and number prescribed by this Order as an alternative classification marking for that classification rating, regardless of font, size, proportion or colour;
“classification marking”, for any classification rating, means all the following prescribed by this Order as a classification marking for that classification rating:
(a)the character or number or both;
(b)the symbol;
(c)the symbol box, being a square, rectangle, circle or other shape;
(d)the colour of the character, number and symbol, and the background of the symbol box.
Classification ratings, etc., for video games
3.  The classification ratings for video games, and their respective classification markings and information, are set out in —
(a)Part 1 of the First Schedule — for video games classified before 1 July 2021 and are distributed before, on or after that date; and
(b)Part 2 of the First Schedule —
(i)for video games classified on or after 1 July 2021; or
(ii)for video games classified before 1 July 2021 and are distributed on or after that date.
Classification ratings, etc., for other films
4.  The classification ratings for films that are not video games, and their respective classification markings, alternative classification markings (if any) and information, are set out in —
(a)Part 1 of the Second Schedule — for films classified before 1 July 2021 and are distributed before, on or after that date or are not distributed;
(b)Part 2 of the Second Schedule — for films classified on or after 1 July 2021 and are not distributed; and
(c)Part 3 of the Second Schedule —
(i)for films classified on or after 1 July 2021 and are distributed on or after that date; or
(ii)for films classified before 1 July 2021 and are distributed on or after that date.
Revocation
5.  The Films (Classification Ratings) Order 2019 (G.N. No. S 340/2019) is revoked.
