Films (Exemption) (Amendment) Notification 2006

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 40(2) of the Films Act, the Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts hereby makes the following Notification:

Citation and commencement

1. This Notification may be cited as the Films (Exemption) (Amendment) Notification 2006 and shall come into operation on 21st July 2006.

Amendment of paragraph 3

2. Paragraph 3 of the Films (Exemption) Notification 2005 (G.N. No. S 431/2005) is amended —

(a)

by inserting, immediately after sub-paragraph (l), the following sub-paragraph:

“(la)

the advertisement does not contain any matter which denigrates or is offensive to any race or religion in Singapore;”;

(b)

by deleting the word “and” at the end of sub-paragraph (m); and

(c)

by deleting the full-stop at the end of sub-paragraph (n) and substituting the word “; and”, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following sub-paragraph:

“(o)	the advertisement shall not be displayed in a manner or place likely to cause offence to any section of the public.”.
