Road Traffic (Traffic Signs) (Exemption) Order 2010
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 142 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Transport hereby makes the following Order:
Citation
1.  This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Traffic Signs) (Exemption) Order 2010.
Definitions
2.  In this Order —
“bus lane” means a part-day bus lane or full-day bus lane as described in rule 7(11) and (11A), respectively, of the Road Traffic (Traffic Signs) Rules (R 33);
“specified bus” means any bus designated as an official vehicle for use in connection with the Youth Olympic Games 2010 and which is identifiable from its markings, livery, blinker lights and licence plates as illustrated in Illustrations 1, 2, 3 and 8 of the Third Schedule to the Road Traffic (Youth Olympic Games Traffic Scheme) Rules 2010 (G.N. No. S 377/2010);
“Youth Olympic Games 2010” means the 2010 Youth Olympic Games to be held in Singapore from 14th August 2010 to 26th August 2010 (both dates inclusive).
Exemption
3.  Rule 8 of the Road Traffic (Traffic Signs) Rules (R 33) shall not apply to any person driving, or causing or permitting to remain, any specified bus —
(a)on any bus lane between 14th August 2010 and 26th August 2010 (both dates inclusive) for the purpose of taking up or setting down Youth Olympic Games 2010 spectators at the bus stop located outside Kallang MRT Station along Sims Avenue bearing the bus stop number 02051; and
(b)on any bus lane on 21st August 2010 for the purpose of taking up or setting down Youth Olympic Games 2010 athletes, team officials and accredited personnel at the bus stop located outside The Seating Gallery along Raffles Avenue bearing the bus stop number 80031.
