Subsidy Scheme) (Amendment) Order 2022

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 165A(1)(a) of the Casino Control Act 2006, the Minister for Social and Family Development makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) This Order is the Casino Control (Exclusion from Casino — Social Assistance Programme and Subsidy Scheme) (Amendment) Order 2022 and, except for paragraph 3(f) and (g), comes into operation on 1 June 2022.

(2) Paragraph 3(f) and (g) is deemed to have come into operation on 31 December 2021.

Replacement of paragraph 2

2. In the Casino Control (Exclusion from Casino — Social Assistance Programme and Subsidy Scheme) Order 2013 (G.N. No. S 81/2013), replace paragraph 2 with —

“Definitions

2. In this Order —

“authorised occupier”, in relation to a rental flat, means —

(a)	any person who is named in the application to lease a flat from the Housing and Development Board as an intended occupier or resident of the flat; and
(b)	any person who has been authorised in writing by the Housing and Development Board to reside in the flat;

“Housing and Development Board” means the Housing and Development Board established by section 3 of the Housing and Development Act 1959.”.

Amendment of paragraph 3

3. In paragraph 3 of the Casino Control (Exclusion from Casino — Social Assistance Programme and Subsidy Scheme) Order 2013 —

(a)

replace “Any person, who is on any of the following social assistance programmes” with “Any of the following persons on any of the following social assistance programmes”;

(b)

in sub‑paragraph (a), replace “ComCare Long Term Assistance (also known as the Public Assistance Scheme)” with “a recipient of ComCare Long‑Term Assistance”;

(c)

replace sub‑paragraphs (b) and (c) with —

“(b)	a recipient of ComCare Short‑to‑Medium‑Term Assistance funded by the Ministry of Social and Family Development;”;

(d)

in sub‑paragraph (d), before “Public Rental Scheme”, insert “a tenant or an authorised occupier of a flat leased under the”;

(e)

in sub‑paragraphs (e) and (f), replace “Legal aid scheme” with “an aided person on the legal aid scheme”;

(f)

in sub‑paragraph (e), replace “Legal Aid and Advice Act (Cap. 160)” with “Legal Aid and Advice Act 1995”; and

(g)

in sub‑paragraph (f), replace “International Child Abduction Act (Cap. 143C)” with “International Child Abduction Act 2010”.
