Police Force Act

Police Force (Exemption) Order 2008
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 116 of the Police Force Act, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Order:
Citation
1.  This Order may be cited as the Police Force (Exemption) Order 2008.
Exemption in respect of persons holding security guard agency’s licence
2.—(1)  Section 86(9)(a) of the Act shall not apply to any person who —
(a)holds a valid security guard agency’s licence under the Private Investigation and Security Agencies Act (Cap. 249); and
(b)in the course of that person’s business as a security guard agency provides security transportation (by whatever means) of —
(i)any cash exceeding $250,000; or
(ii)gold, jewellery or other valuables of a value exceeding that amount,
under the protection of at least 2 armed guards from an Auxiliary Police Force to protect such cash or property while it is being transported.
(2)  In this Order, “security guard agency’s licence” has the same meaning as in the Private Investigation and Security Agencies Act (Cap. 249).
