Medical Registration Act (Amendment of Schedule) (No. 2) Order 2006

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 71 of the Medical Registration Act, the Minister for Health, after consultation with the Singapore Medical Council, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Medical Registration Act (Amendment of Schedule) (No. 2) Order 2006 and shall come into operation on 1st August 2006.

Amendment of Schedule

2. The Schedule to the Medical Registration Act is amended —

(a)

by deleting “MBBS” under the heading “Primary Qualifications” in items 1 to 4 and 6 to 10 relating to the country “Australia” and substituting in each case “MB BS”;

(b)

by inserting, immediately after item 7 relating to the country “Canada”, the following items:

9. Faculté de Médecine, Université de Montréal

10. College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan

”;

(c)

by deleting “MBBS” under the heading “Primary Qualifications” in item 2 relating to the country “Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Peoples’ Republic of China” and substituting “MB BS”;

(d)

by inserting, immediately after the country “Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Peoples’ Republic of China” and the entries relating thereto, the following country and entries:

(e)

by inserting, immediately after the country “Ireland” and the entries relating thereto, the following country and entries:

(j)

by deleting “MB” under the heading “Primary Qualifications” in item 18 relating to the country “United Kingdom” and substituting “BM”; and

(k)

by inserting, immediately after item 24 relating to the country “United States of America”, the following items:
