(Amendment) Regulations 2024

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 27C(9) and 102 of the Parliamentary Elections Act 1954, the Prime Minister makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the Parliamentary Elections (Indian and Other Minority Communities Committee) (Amendment) Regulations 2024 and are deemed to have come into operation on 31 December 2021.

Miscellaneous amendments

2. In the Parliamentary Elections (Indian and Other Minority Communities Committee) Regulations (Rg 2) —

(a)

in the following provisions, replace “Chairman” with “Chairperson”:

Regulation 2(1) and (2)

Regulation 4

Regulation 5

Regulation 7(1) and (2)

Regulation 17

The Schedule, Form B;

(b)

in the following provisions, in the regulation heading, replace “Chairman” with “Chairperson”:

Regulation 4

Regulation 5;

(c)

in the Schedule, in Forms A and B, after “PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS ACT”, insert “1954”;

(d)

in the Schedule, in Forms A and B, delete “(CHAPTER 218)”; and

(e)

in the Schedule, in Forms A and B, after “Parliamentary Elections Act”, insert “1954”.
