(Chapter 36)
Central Provident Fund (Withdrawal of Cash Grants) (Amendment) Regulations 2004
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 77(1)(s) of the Central Provident Fund Act, Dr Ng Eng Hen, Minister of State, Ministry of Education, charged with the responsibility of the Minister for Manpower, after consulting with the Central Provident Fund Board, hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.—(1)  These Regulations may be cited as the Central Provident Fund (Withdrawal of Cash Grants) (Amendment) Regulations 2004 and shall, with the exception of regulations 3 and 4, come into operation on 1st September 2004.
(2)  Regulation 3 shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st April 2003.
(3)  Regulation 4 shall be deemed to have come into operation on 30th September 2002.
Amendment of regulation 3
2.  Regulation 3(1) of the Central Provident Fund (Withdrawal of Cash Grants) Regulations (Rg 8) (referred to in these Regulations as the principal Regulations) is amended by deleting the words “Small Families Improvement Scheme” and substituting the words “Home Ownership Plus Education Scheme”.
Amendment of First Schedule
3.  The First Schedule to the principal Regulations is amended by deleting item (5).
Amendment of Second Schedule
4.  The Second Schedule to the principal Regulations is amended by inserting, immediately after item (3), the following item:
“(4)  The Central Provident Fund (Withdrawals for ElderShield Scheme) Regulations (Rg 29).”.
