Road Traffic (2008 Formula 1Tm Singtel Singapore Grand Prix) (Exemption) Order 2008
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 142 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Order:
Citation
1.  This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (2008 FORMULA 1TM SingTel Singapore Grand Prix) (Exemption) Order 2008.
Definition
2.  In this Order, “designated racing circuit” means the racing circuit designated and approved for use by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile, the Singapore Tourism Board and the Land Transport Authority of Singapore for the purpose of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile Formula One World Championship 2008, which is more particularly shown in the Schedule.
Exemption
3.—(1)  Sections 35, 62, 62A, 63, 64, 65, 65B, 66, 67, 68, 73, 74, 75, 84 and 120 of the Act shall not apply to any motor vehicle which —
(a)is used for the purpose of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile Formula One World Championship 2008 in Singapore within the designated racing circuit; and
(b)has in force a policy of insurance in relation to that motor vehicle insuring the owner of the motor vehicle or such other person (as may be specified in the policy) who drives the motor vehicle jointly and each of them severally against any liability which may be incurred by the owner or that other person jointly or by either of them severally, in respect of the death of or bodily injury to any person caused by or arising out of the use of the motor vehicle in Singapore.
(2)  The exemption referred to in sub-paragraph (1) shall be valid from 20th September 2008 to 2nd October 2008 (both dates inclusive).
