Building Control (Amendment) Regulations 2007

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 49 of the Building Control Act, the Minister for National Development hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Building Control (Amendment) Regulations 2007 and shall come into operation on 17th September 2007.

Amendment of regulation 41D

2. Regulation 41D of the Building Control Regulations 2003 (G.N. No. S 666/2003) is amended —

(a)

by deleting paragraph (2) and substituting the following paragraphs:

“(2) Subject to paragraph (2A), no person shall install any window that is or is to be an exterior feature of any building unless —

(a)	he is a trained window installer; or
(b)	he is doing so under the supervision and guidance of a trained window installer.

(2A) No trained window installer shall install, or supervise and guide the installation of, any window that is or is to be an exterior feature of any building unless he is —

(a)	a director;
(b)	a partner;
(c)	the sole proprietor; or
(d)	an employee,

of an approved window contractor engaged under paragraph (1).”; and

(b)

by deleting the words “paragraph (1) or (2)” in paragraph (3) and substituting the words “paragraph (1), (2) or (2A)”.

Amendment of regulation 41H

3. Regulation 41H of the Building Control Regulations 2003 is amended by deleting the words “in Singapore” in paragraph (b).
