(Permanent Court of Arbitration)
(Amendment) Order 2022
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6(3) of the Diplomatic and Consular Relations Act 2005, the Minister for Foreign Affairs makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Order is the Diplomatic and Consular Relations (Permanent Court of Arbitration) (Amendment) Order 2022 and comes into operation on 14 June 2022.
Amendment of paragraph 2
2.  Paragraph 2 of the Diplomatic and Consular Relations (Permanent Court of Arbitration) Order 2007 (G.N. No. S 518/2007) is amended —
(a)by deleting the words “the PCA Legal Officer” in paragraph (b) of the definition of “Official of the PCA” and substituting the words “any PCA Legal Officer”;
(b)by deleting the words “signed in Singapore on 25 July 2017” in the definition of “PCA Agreement” and substituting the words “dated on 25 April 2022”; and
(c)by deleting the definition of “PCA Legal Officer” and substituting the following definition:
“ “PCA Legal Officer” means any legal officer of the PCA appointed to serve in Singapore by the PCA pursuant to the PCA Agreement;”.
Deletion and substitution of paragraph 4A
3.  Paragraph 4A of the Diplomatic and Consular Relations (Permanent Court of Arbitration) Order 2007 is deleted and the following paragraph substituted therefor:
Additional privilege of a PCA Legal Officer
4A.  In addition to the immunities and privileges of a PCA Legal Officer under the International Organisations (Immunities and Privileges) (Permanent Court of Arbitration) Order 2007 (G.N. No. S 519/2007), a PCA Legal Officer enjoys exemption from custom duties when importing furniture and effects for the PCA Legal Officer’s personal use within 6 months after taking up the appointment in Singapore.”.
