Moneylenders (Amendment No. 3) Rules 2007

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 37 of the Moneylenders Act, the Minister for Law hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Moneylenders (Amendment No. 3) Rules 2007 and shall come into operation on 14th September 2007.

Amendment of rule 17

2. Rule 17(1) of the Moneylenders Rules (R 1) is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “to natural persons who are members of the public” in sub-paragraphs (a)(i) and (b)(i) and substituting in each case the words “by granting personal or consumer loans to individuals”; and
(b)	by deleting the words “to persons” in sub-paragraphs (a)(ii) and (b)(ii) and substituting in each case the words “by granting loans”. [G.N. Nos. S 52/2007; S 63/2007]
