Environmental Protection and
Management (Hazardous Substances)
(Amendment) Regulations 2019
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 77 of the Environmental Protection and Management Act, the National Environment Agency, with the approval of the Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations are the Environmental Protection and Management (Hazardous Substances) (Amendment) Regulations 2019 and come into operation on 12 February 2020.
Amendment of Schedule
2.  The Schedule to the Environmental Protection and Management (Hazardous Substances) Regulations (Rg 4) is amended —
(a)by inserting, immediately below the item “Acetic Anhydride”, the following item:

Acetochlor

”;
(b)by inserting, immediately below the item “Allyl isothiocyanate”, the following item:
“
Amitraz

”;
(c)by inserting, immediately below the item “Arsenical substances”, the following items:
“
Atrazine

Benzidine; its salts
0
Bis(chloromethyl)ether
0
”;
(d)by inserting, immediately below the item “Diethyl sulphate”, the following item:
“
Dinoterb

”;
(e)by inserting, immediately below the item “Hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD)”, the following item:

Hexazinone

”;
(f)by inserting, immediately below the item “Organo-tin compounds”, the following items:

Paraquat; its salts

Pentadecafluorooctanoic acid (PFOA); its salts and related compounds

”; and
(g)by deleting the item “Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS)” and substituting the following items:
“
Perfluorohexane sulfonic acid (PFHxS); its salts and related compounds

Perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS)

”.
