Factories Act
(Chapter 104)
Factories (Safety Management System) Order 2000
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 71B(1) of the Factories Act, the Minister for Manpower hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Order may be cited as the Factories (Safety Management System) Order 2000 and shall come into operation on 1st March 2001.
Classes of factories to which section 71B of Act applies
2.  Section 71B of the Act shall apply to the following classes or descriptions of factories:
(a)factories engaged in the processing or manufacturing of petroleum, petroleum products, petrochemicals or petrochemical products;
(b)factories engaged in the manufacture of semiconductor wafers; and
(c)factories engaged in the manufacture of fabricated metal products, machinery or equipment and in which 100 or more persons are employed.
