(Transitional Provisions for Admission)
Regulations 2024
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 48(12) of the Legal Profession (Amendment) Act 2023, the Minister for Law makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations are the Legal Profession (Amendment) Act 2023 (Transitional Provisions for Admission) Regulations 2024 and come into operation on 14 June 2024.
Prescribed dates
2.—(1)  For the purposes of section 48(4) and (5) of the Act, the prescribed date is 1 November 2025.
(2)  For the purposes of section 48(7)(a) of the Act, the prescribed date is —
(a)if the application is for the Minister’s approval mentioned in section 48(1)(b) or (c) or (3)(b) of the Act — 1 October 2024;
(b)if the application is for the Minister’s approval mentioned in section 48(4) or (5)(a) or (b) of the Act — 1 November 2025; and
(c)if the application is for the Minister’s approval mentioned in section 48(6)(a) of the Act — 31 October 2025.
Application for Minister’s approval under section 48 of Act
3.—(1)  An individual may make an application mentioned in section 48(7) of the Act by completing the application form made available on the website of the Ministry of Law at https://mlaw.gov.sg, and submitting the completed application form through the website.
(2)  For the purposes of section 48(7)(b) of the Act, the prescribed fee is $320 for each application form submitted, even if the application form is used to make more than one application.
