Central Provident Fund (Notice to Attend Court) (Amendment) Rules 2007
In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 62 (8) and 77(2)(k) of the Central Provident Fund Act, the Central Provident Fund Board hereby makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules may be cited as the Central Provident Fund (Notice to Attend Court) (Amendment) Rules 2007 and shall come into operation on 1st October 2007.
Amendment of rule 2
2.  Rule 2 of the Central Provident Fund (Notice to Attend Court) Rules (R 10) is amended by deleting the words “Form in the Schedule” and substituting the words “applicable Form in the First Schedule or the Second Schedule”.
Renaming of Schedule and new Second Schedule
3.  The Central Provident Fund (Notice to Attend Court) Rules are amended —
(a)by deleting the words “THE SCHEDULE” in the heading to the Schedule and substituting the words “FIRST SCHEDULE”; and
(b)by inserting, immediately after that Schedule, the following Schedule:

Whereas your attendance is necessary to answer to the charge(s) of:
TAKE NOTICE that you are to appear in person before ( venue) on (date of mention) at (time) to answer to the above charge(s).
If you, without just excuse, fail to appear before the court on the said date and time, a warrant for your arrest may be issued and you may be required to show cause why you should not be punished for failing to attend court.

Offer of Composition
ALTERNATIVELY, you may have the abovementioned offence(s) compounded within __________ days from the date of issue of this Notice. Your attendance in court will not be necessary upon —
(a)the payment of a sum of $_________ for the composition of the offence(s); and
(b)the refund or transfer to your ordinary account or special account, in accordance with such directions as the Central Provident Fund Board may give, of any amount which the Central Provident Fund Board has required you to refund or transfer to that account under any regulations made under section 77(1)(n) of the Central Provident Fund Act.
However, if you fail to have the above offence(s) compounded upon such payment and refund or transfer, take note that under section 61B of the Central Provident Fund Act the court may, upon your conviction, in addition to imposing the prescribed penalty, also order you to refund or transfer to your ordinary account or special account, as the case may be, in accordance with such directions as the Central Provident Fund Board may give, the amount certified by an officer appointed by the Central Provident Fund Board to be due from you at the date of the refund or transfer.
