Newspaper and Printing Presses
(Exemption) (Amendment)
Order 2012

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 44(1) of the Newspaper and Printing Presses Act, the Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Newspaper and Printing Presses (Exemption) (Amendment) Order 2012 and shall come into operation on 15th October 2012.

Amendment of paragraph 2

2. Paragraph 2 of the Newspaper and Printing Presses (Exemption) Order 2005 (G.N. No. S 380/2005) is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “statutory bodies and”; and

(b)

by renumbering the paragraph as sub-paragraph (1) of that paragraph, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following sub-paragraph:

“(2) Newspapers printed or published by or under the auspices of any statutory body constituted by or under any public Act for a public purpose shall be exempted from section 21 of the Act.”.

Amendment of Schedule

3. The Schedule to the Newspaper and Printing Presses (Exemption) Order 2005 is amended —

(a)	by deleting Part I; and
(b)	by deleting the words “PART II”.
