Companies (Exemption) (Amendment) Notification 2000
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 119(1) of the Companies Act, the Minister for Finance hereby makes the following Notification:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Notification may be cited as the Companies (Exemption) (Amendment) Notification 2000 and shall come into operation on 14th February 2000.
Amendment of paragraph 2
2.  Paragraph 2 of the Companies (Exemption) Notification 1998 (G.N. No. S 328/98) (referred to in this Notification as the principal Notification) is amended by deleting the words “First and Second Schedules” in the last line and substituting the words “First, Second and Third Schedules”.
Amendment of First Schedule
3.  Paragraph 2 of the First Schedule to the principal Notification is amended by inserting, immediately after the word “Schedule.”, the words “Where an advertisement is posted on the Internet, the advertisement shall also be in compliance with the conditions specified in the Third Schedule.”.
New Third Schedule
4.  The principal Notification is amended by inserting, immediately after the Second Schedule, the following Schedule:
THIRD SCHEDULE
1.The advertisement must be linked to an electronic copy of the prospectus and it must refer to the prospectus and a form of application for subscription for or purchase of the unit trust, whether the prospectus or form of application is in electronic form or not.
2.The advertisement must state that a printed copy of the prospectus in relation to the offer or intended offer of the unit trust has been registered with the Registrar and copies thereof are made available to the public.
3.The advertisement must state clearly where a printed copy of the prospectus may be obtained.
4.The advertisement must contain a statement that only information which forms part of the prospectus can be relied on in respect of the offer or intended offer.
5.A copy of the screen flows of the advertisement must be lodged with the Registrar.
6.The advertisement must be based on or derived from information contained in the prospectus.
7.The advertisement must not contain any misleading information or misrepresentation.”.
Notification not to affect liability
5.  For the avoidance of doubt, it is declared that nothing in this Notification shall limit or diminish any civil liability that any person may incur under any rule of law or provision of the Act.
