Factories (Persons-in-charge) (Amendment) Regulations 2000

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 102 of the Factories Act, the Minister for Manpower hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Factories (Persons-In-Charge) (Amendment) Regulations 2000 and shall come into operation on 1st December 2000.

New regulation 13

2. The Factories (Persons-In-Charge) Regulations (Rg 9) are amended by inserting, immediately after regulation 12, the following regulation:

“Exemption

13. The Chief Inspector may exempt, with conditions, by certificate in writing, certain classes of steam boilers or internal combustion engines from the requirements of these Regulations if he is satisfied that such requirements cannot be reasonably applied.”.
