Darjah Utama Temasek
(The Order of Temasek)
(Amendment) Rules 2019
The President makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules are the Darjah Utama Temasek (The Order of Temasek) (Amendment) Rules 2019 and come into operation on 1 August 2019.
Amendment of rule 4
2.  Rule 4 of the Darjah Utama Temasek (The Order of Temasek) Rules 1996 (G.N. No. S 326/96) (called in these Rules the principal Rules) is amended by deleting paragraphs (a), (b) and (c) and substituting the following paragraphs:
“(a)the Order of Temasek (With High Distinction), consisting of the Badge and the Star of the Order;
(b)the Order of Temasek (With Distinction), consisting of the Badge and the Star of the Order;
(c)the grade called the Order of Temasek, consisting of the Badge of the Order.”.
Amendment of rule 6
3.  Rule 6 of the principal Rules is amended —
(a)by deleting the words “First Class of the Order of Temasek” in paragraph (1) and substituting the words “Order of Temasek (With High Distinction)”; and
(b)by deleting the words “Second Class and Third Class of the Order of Temasek” in paragraph (2) and substituting the words “Order of Temasek (With Distinction) and the grade called the Order of Temasek”.
Amendment of rule 12
4.  Rule 12 of the principal Rules is amended —
(a)by deleting the words “First Class of the Order of Temasek” in paragraph (1) and substituting the words “Order of Temasek (With High Distinction)”;
(b)by deleting the words “Second Class of the Order of Temasek” in paragraph (2) and substituting the words “Order of Temasek (With Distinction)”; and
(c)by deleting the words “Third Class of the Order of Temasek” in paragraph (3) and substituting the words “grade called the Order of Temasek”.
Amendment of rule 18
5.  Rule 18 of the principal Rules is amended by inserting, immediately after paragraph (2), the following paragraph:
“(3)  With effect from 1 August 2019, a person on whom is conferred, before that date —
(a)the First Class of the Order of Temasek is deemed to have been conferred the Order of Temasek (With High Distinction);
(b)the Second Class of the Order of Temasek is deemed to have been conferred the Order of Temasek (With Distinction); and
(c)the Third Class of the Order of Temasek is deemed to have been conferred the grade called the Order of Temasek.”.
