Employment of Foreign Workers (Levy) (Amendment) Order 2006

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 11(1) of the Employment of Foreign Workers Act, the Minister for Manpower hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Employment of Foreign Workers (Levy) (Amendment) Order 2006 and shall come into operation on 1st October 2006.

Amendment of paragraph 4

2. Paragraph 4 of the Employment of Foreign Workers (Levy) Order (O 1) (referred to in this Order as the principal Order) is amended by deleting the words “at any time on or after 1st July 2005,”.

Amendment of paragraph 4A

3. Paragraph 4A of the principal Order is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “at any time on or after 1st July 2005,” in sub-paragraph (1);
(b)	by deleting “$500” in sub-paragraph (1)(b)(i) and (ii) and substituting in each case “$450”; and
(c)	by deleting “$17” in sub-paragraph (1)(b)(ii) and substituting “$15”.

Amendment of paragraph 12

4. Paragraph 12 of the principal Order is amended by deleting the words “at any time on or after 1st July 2005,”.

Amendment of paragraph 13

5. Paragraph 13 of the principal Order is amended by deleting the words “at any time on or after 1st July 2005,”.

Amendment of paragraph 14

6. Paragraph 14 of the principal Order is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “at any time on or after 1st July 2005,” in sub-paragraph (1);
(b)	by deleting “$500” in sub-paragraph (1)(c)(i) and (ii) and substituting in each case “$450”; and
(c)	by deleting “$17” in sub-paragraph (1)(c)(ii) and substituting “$15”.

Amendment of paragraph 20

7. Paragraph 20 (1) of the principal Order is amended by deleting the words “at any time on or after 1st July 2005,”.

Amendment of paragraph 21

8. Paragraph 21 of the principal Order is amended by deleting the words “at any time on or after 1st July 2005,”.

Amendment of paragraph 22

9. Paragraph 22 of the principal Order is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “at any time on or after 1st July 2005,” in sub-paragraph (1);
(b)	by deleting “$500” in sub-paragraph (1)(b)(i) and (ii) and substituting in each case “$450”; and
