(Amendment) Notification 2025
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 40(2) of the Films Act 1981, the Minister for Digital Development and Information makes the following Notification:
Citation and commencement
1.—(1)  This Notification is the Films (Presidential Election Campaign Recordings — Exemption) (Amendment) Notification 2025 and, except for paragraph 3, comes into operation on 22 January 2025.
(2)  Paragraph 3 is deemed to have come into operation on 31 December 2021.
Amendment of paragraph 2
2.  In the Films (Presidential Election Campaign Recordings — Exemption) Notification 2011 (G.N. No. S 445/2011), in paragraph 2 —
(a)in the definition of “distribute”, in paragraph (b), replace the comma at the end with a semi‑colon;
(b)in the definition of “distribute”, delete “and “distribution” shall be construed accordingly;”;
(c)in the definition of “exhibit”, in paragraph (b), replace the comma at the end with a semi‑colon; and
(d)in the definition of “exhibit”, delete “and “exhibition” shall be construed accordingly;”.
Miscellaneous amendments
3.  In the Films (Presidential Election Campaign Recordings — Exemption) Notification 2011 —
(a)in the following provisions, replace “(Cap. 240A)” with “1991”:
Paragraph 2, definitions of “candidate”, “election” and “election agent”
Paragraph 5
Paragraph 6
Paragraph 8(b);
(b)in paragraph 2, in the definition of “election period”, in paragraph (a), after “Presidential Elections Act”, insert “1991”; and
(c)in paragraph 2, in the definition of “exhibit”, in paragraph (b), delete “(Act 15 of 2009)”.
