(Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2024

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 23 of the Central Provident Fund Act 1953, the Minister for Manpower makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the Central Provident Fund (Education Scheme) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2024 and come into operation on 1 July 2024.

Amendment of regulation 5

2. In the Central Provident Fund (Education Scheme) Regulations (Rg 18), in regulation 5(3) —

(a)

replace “on the occurrence” with “if the Board is satisfied of the occurrence”;

(b)

replace sub-paragraphs (a) and (b) with —

“(a)

the death of —

(i)	the member; or
(ii)	the member’s child or relative in respect of whom such withdrawals were made;

(b)

the incapacity of the member’s child or relative in respect of whom such withdrawals were made;”;

(c)

in sub-paragraphs (ba) and (d), delete “if the Board is satisfied that”; and

(d)

in sub-paragraph (c)(ii), delete “the Board is satisfied that”.
