Environmental Pollution Control (Vehicular Emissions) (Amendment) Regulations 2000

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 12(5) and 76(1) of the Environmental Pollution Control Act 1999, the Minister for the Environment hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Environmental Pollution Control (Vehicular Emissions) (Amendment) Regulations 2000 and shall come into operation on 1st January 2001.

Amendment of regulation 4

2. Regulation 4 of the Environmental Pollution Control (Vehicular Emissions) Regulations 1999 (G.N. No. S 291/1999) (referred to in these Regulations as the principal Regulations) is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “1st July 1999” in paragraphs (1) and (3) and substituting in each case the words “1st January 2001”; and
(b)	by deleting paragraph (2).

Deletion and substitution of First Schedule

3. The First Schedule to the principal Regulations is deleted and the following Schedule substituted therefor:

“FIRST SCHEDULE

Regulation 4(1)

Standard for Exhaust Emission for New Petrol Driven Motor Vehicles

The standard for exhaust emission for petrol driven motor vehicles shall be the EC Directive 96/69/EC.”.

Amendment of Second Schedule

4. The Second Schedule to the principal Regulations is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “EC Directive 93/59/EEC” in paragraphs (a) and (b) and substituting in each case the words “EC Directive 96/69/EC”; and
(b)	by deleting the words “Stage I” in paragraph (c) and substituting the words “Stage II”.
