(101 — Unmanned Aircraft Operations)
(Amendment) Regulations 2024
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Air Navigation Act 1966, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Transport, makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations are the Air Navigation (101 — Unmanned Aircraft Operations) (Amendment) Regulations 2024 and come into operation on 6 July 2024.
Amendment of regulation 9
2.  In the Air Navigation (101 — Unmanned Aircraft Operations) Regulations 2019 (G.N. No. S 833/2019) (called in these Regulations the principal Regulations), in regulation 9, in the Illustrations, in paragraph (a), after “agricultural activity,”, insert “a light show,”.
Amendment of First Schedule
3.  In the principal Regulations, in the First Schedule —
(a)after the definition of “indoors”, insert —
“ “light show” means an operation of 2 or more unmanned aircraft which are —
(a)each equipped with lights (such as light emitting diodes); and
(b)flying in coordinated patterns to create visual effects in the air.”;
(b)in the definition of “recreation purpose”, in paragraph (b), delete “or” at the end;
(c)in the definition of “recreation purpose”, in paragraph (c), replace the full‑stop at the end with “; or”;
(d)in the definition of “recreation purpose”, after paragraph (c), insert —
(d)a light show.”; and
(e)in the definition of “registrable unmanned aircraft”, replace “250 g” with “250 g, but does not include an unmanned aircraft that is operated or intended to be operated solely for the conduct of light shows under a Class 1 activity permit”.
Amendment of Second Schedule
4.  In the principal Regulations, in the Second Schedule, in paragraph 4 —
(a)in sub-paragraph (b), after “15 January 2024”, insert “but before 6 July 2024”; and
(b)after sub‑paragraph (b), insert —
 
“(c)
for an application made on or after 6 July 2024 —
 
 
 
 
(i)for the first application, where the Class 1 activity permit is for any activity other than the conduct of a light show
$120
 
 
(ii)for the first application, where the Class 1 activity permit is for the conduct of a light show
$500
 
 
(iii)for any subsequent application without any change in the unmanned aircraft or type of unmanned aircraft or place of operation of that aircraft, where the Class 1 activity permit is for any activity other than the conduct of a light show
$45
 
 
(iv)for any subsequent application without any change in the unmanned aircraft or type of unmanned aircraft or place of operation of that aircraft, where the Class 1 activity permit is for the conduct of a light show
$425”.
