Rules 2020

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 166 of the Bankruptcy Act, the Minister for Law makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Bankruptcy (Variation of Sum of Debts under section 125(2)(b)) (Revocation) Rules 2020 and come into operation on 30 July 2020.

Revocation

2. The Bankruptcy (Variation of Sum of Debts under section 125(2)(b)) Rules (R 4) are revoked.

Saving and transitional provision

3. Despite rule 2, the Bankruptcy (Variation of Sum of Debts under section 125(2)(b)) Rules as in force immediately before 30 July 2020 continue to apply to any bankruptcy arising from, or any bankrupt who was adjudged bankrupt pursuant to, a bankruptcy application made before 1 August 2016.
