(Motor Vehicles Special Tax)
(Amendment) Regulations 2017

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 143 of the Customs Act, the Minister for Finance makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the Customs (Motor Vehicles Special Tax) (Amendment) Regulations 2017 and come into operation on 20 February 2017 at 4.45 p.m.

Amendment of Schedule

2. The Schedule to the Customs (Motor Vehicles Special Tax) Regulations (Rg 12) is amended —

(a)	by deleting “$2,550” under the heading “Rates of special tax half‑yearly” in item 1 of Part II and substituting “$2,125”;
(b)	by inserting, immediately after the words “vehicle concerned” under the heading “Rates of special tax half‑yearly” in item 2 of Part II, the words “, less $50”;
(c)	by deleting the words “or $625” under the heading “Rates of special tax half‑yearly” in Part IV and substituting the words “less $50, or $575”; and
(d)	by deleting the words “or $200” under the heading “Rates of special tax half-yearly” in Part VI and substituting the words “less $50, or $150”.
