(Chapter 3)

Muslim Marriage and Divorce (Amendment) Rules 2005

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 145 of the Administration of Muslim Law Act, the President of Singapore hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Muslim Marriage and Divorce (Amendment) Rules 2005 and shall come into operation on 1st October 2005.

Amendment of Third Schedule

2. Part I of the Third Schedule to the Muslim Marriage and Divorce Rules (R 1) is amended —

(a)

by inserting, immediately after item 3, the following items:

“

3A. Application for registration of Marriage where at least one party is below the age of 16 years

$120

3B. Application for registration of Marriage where the wali refuses consent

$100

”; and

(b)

by deleting “$200” in item 29 and substituting “$380”.
