Parking Places (Provision of Parking Places and Parking Spaces) (Amendment No. 2) Rules 2002

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 8 of the Parking Places Act, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Transport, hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Parking Places (Provision of Parking Places and Parking Spaces) (Amendment No. 2) Rules 2002 and shall come into operation on 16th December 2002.

Amendment of rule 3

2. Rule 3 of the Parking Places (Provision of Parking Places and Parking Spaces) Rules (R 5) is amended —

(a)

by deleting the word “or” at the end of paragraph (2)(a);

(b)

by deleting the comma at the end of sub-paragraph (b) of paragraph (2) and substituting the word “; or”, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following sub-paragraph:

“(c)	parking places and parking spaces in public housing developments under the Housing and Development Act (Cap. 129),”; and

(c)

by inserting, immediately after paragraph (2), the following paragraph:

“(3) Where a proposal or plan for the provision of parking places and parking spaces has been approved by the Authority under paragraph (1) or lodged with the Authority under paragraph (2), the developer or owner of the land or place, or the person who maintains or operates the parking places and parking spaces concerned, shall not make any change or alteration to that proposal or plan or to the parking places and parking spaces without the prior approval of the Authority.”.
