Environmental Pollution Control
(Amendment of Second Schedule) Order 2000

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 77(1) of the Environmental Pollution Control Act 1999, the Minister for the Environment hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Environmental Pollution Control (Amendment of Second Schedule) Order 2000 and shall come into operation on 1st January 2001.

Amendment of Second Schedule

2. The Second Schedule to the Act is amended —

(a)

by deleting the items relating to the following substances in Part I:

(i)	bromodichlorofluoromethane;
(ii)	bromotrifluoromethane;
(iii)	chlorofluorocarbons;
(iv)	dibromotetrafluoroethane;
(v)	hydrobromofluorocarbons; and
(vi)	methyl bromide;

(b)

by inserting, immediately below the item relating to organo-tin compounds in Part I, the following item:

(ii) equipment for domestic or commercial refrigeration or air-conditioning installed on or after 1st January 1993, or heat pump equipment, which contains any chlorofluorocarbon substance as a refrigerant or in any insulating material of such equipment;

(iii) refrigerators that have a compressor rating which exceeds one horsepower;

(iv) non-pharmaceutical aerosol products;

(v) insulation boards, panels or pipe covers;

(vi) polystyrene sheets or finished products;

(b) Halons, the following:

(b) in the case of Halons, portable fire extinguishers; and

by inserting, immediately after the word “Propellants” in Part II, the words “other than those containing ozone depleting substances”.
