Order 2021

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 142 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Transport makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order is the Road Traffic (Vehicles Used for Official Visit (United States of America) — Exemption) Order 2021 and comes into operation on 19 August 2021.

Exemption

2.—(1) The following provisions of the Act and rules made under the Act do not apply to any relevant vehicle that is driven in connection with the specified purpose:

(a)	Parts I, IA and V of the Act;
(b)	the Road Traffic (Electronic Road Pricing System) Rules 2015 (G.N. No. S 226/2015);
(c)	the Road Traffic (International Circulation) Rules (R 7);
(d)	the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Construction and Use) Rules (R 9);
(e)	the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Lighting) Rules (R 10);
(f)	the Road Traffic (Regulation of Speed) Rules (R 13);
(g)	the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Seat Belts) Rules (R 15);
(h)	the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Rear and Side Markings) Rules (R 18);
(i)	the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Speed Warning Device) Rules (R 19);
(j)	the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Test) Rules (R 21);
(k)	the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Speed Limiters) Rules (R 39).

(2) In this Order —

“Official Visit” means the official visit of the Honourable Kamala D Harris, Vice President of the United States of America, taking place in Singapore between 22 August 2021 and 24 August 2021 (both dates inclusive), and includes any meetings, lead‑in and lead‑out activities and social events connected with the Official Visit;

“related activity” is an activity in Singapore involving any representative of the United States of America joining in the Official Visit;

“relevant vehicle” means a vehicle bearing any vehicle identification number of which the last 6 digits are as follows:

(a)	330776;
(b)	243848;
(c)	189263;
(d)	281265;
(e)	C46673;
(f)	260249;
(g)	156227;
(h)	344252;
(i)	415158;
(j)	415490;

“specified purpose” means conveying any non‑citizen individual taking part or joining in the Official Visit or in related activities, to or from any place within Singapore.
